From May 23 to 25, 2018, the Sixth Global Conference of ISO/TC31/WG10 was held in Tokyo. Nearly 40 experts from nine countries participated in thisconference.
The conference was chaired by Dong Lanfei, the convenor of ISO/TC31/WG10 Working Group. Experts of the Working Group fully discussed the voting opinions of DIS (Draft International Standard) stage of two international standards, namely, “ISO/FDIS 20909 Radio Frequency IDdentification (RFID) tyre tags” and “ISO/FDIS 20910 Coding for Radio Frequency IDdentification (RFID) tyre tags” and reached an agreement on pushing forwards the standards to the stage of FDIS (Final Draft International Standard). These two international standards are expected to be officially released this year.
Subsequently, the experts fully discussed the voting opinions of the first round of CD (Committee Draft) stage of the standard “ ISO/CD 20911 Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tyre tags technical classification”, and sorted out the important controversial points of thestandard “ ISO/CD 20912 Compliance and Testing methods for Radio Frequency IDdentification (RFID) tyre tags”. Also, it is planned thattwo to three online meetings will be held around this standardafter this conference, and a second round CD vote on these two international standards is expected to be launched around August.
The conference was strongly supported by SAC/TC19, JISC (Japan Industrial Standards Commission) and relevant Japanese tire enterprises.
